When it's not too windy I take the dog to Crovie, about 25 mins drive from me. It really is my favourite village in Aberdeenshire; somewhat reminiscent of Capri in that you can't bring a car here. A more modest village than its famous sister, Pennan, along the road. I love the houses, gable end to the sea, and the steep hills that loom above it. It really is a one-street village, too narrow for cars. We park at Gardenstown, next door and walk along the coast path that says 'Dangerous'.

Gable end to the sea - tells you something about the wind.
